The Three girls in my Life

I have been extremely Lucky in my life to have lots of people who loved me and made my life memorable. I have been especially lucky when it comes to Women in my Life and there were 3 girls in my life who loved me and shaped my life and made me the person that I am today. This is the story of the three Girls in my Life who incidentally had names which when translated to English all meant "Love"

First Girl

She was in early twenties when she came in my life or the other way round. I was very young and did not know what love was, but she showered with me with love and took care of me. No amount of pain I gave her bothered her and she was there to stand up for me. She was the very first women in my Life and just like her name loved me like crazy and may be spoilt me a little till another person came to her life. Her name was Prema and she is my Mother. She was took care of me and was not only my mother but my initial teacher who took time out of her busy life to teach me A, B,C and also after initial effort to turn me into a right handed, accepted and thought me write.

She was a super Women, who thought her job was to take care of home till my father  got injured and was bed ridden for 6 months, she took her responsibility to see that we never were hungry by finding options of healthy food that were cheap. I remember how we go get broken Bananas ( single loose pieces) directly from the whole seller as they used to sell it cheap as retailers did not buy it as they some small cuts in it. We also found that we could have eggs to eat as there were Whole seller selling Broken Eggs at fraction of the prices  and we had the option of Tich Eggs ( eggs with small cracks that can be taken whole) or even cheaper broken eggs for which took vessels and  whole sellers could crack the eggs and then put the yolk into the vessel that we had got. In my recent visit to India, I saw that they still sell Broken Eggs. She showed us early in life that if Life gives you a lemon, you can squeeze it and make a lemonade (nimbu pani) and the are healthy.
She also tried her best to teach me household chores like washing vessels and how to cooks rice, etc and one of her common refrain was I do not want your wife to ask me as did you not teach your son anything at all.
Most of all she thought me to respect people and to never to give up.
She was a fighter and there was no doubt of it and was one of my silent support when all fury of  my relatives and father descended on me, when I decided that I was not taking Dowry for my Marriage. I was a painful period, but she taught me to be silent and just move on.

She  again showed her fighting ability when she was diagnosed with Lung Cancer and was ready to take 2 rounds of 6 chemotherapy doses and did not let it beat her down. She lost the battle but never let gave up her fight till the last day.

Second Girl

She  came to life very early but 9 years after my first Girl and it was love at first sight for me. I had always wanted her and was the happiest to get her Home. She responded to my love with unconditional love and was more of my Life Long Fan. Her name is Preethi and she is my crazy  little sister.

She was happy go lucky and was always had to face the same set of teachers in school who had taught me and was always compared to me. The biggest plus point she had was that she had lot better hand writing then me. I had always wanted a sister and both me and my Brother were delighted when she was born. She completed our Family.

I was the big brother she could show off. I had to drop her to college or pick up from college as she was too lazy to use the bicycle that she had. After some times, she always wanted me to wear the RayBan Glasses when I used to came to pick her from the college as she said that she wanted to show off to her friends about her tall handsome brother. But I some how had and still have lingering doubts that it was more to cover/ hide  my face then to show off. I will give her the benefit of doubt on this.

I wanted her to study further, but she was comfortable only doing Bachelor of Science and she stood by me even through she was the person most affected when I decided not to take dowry as my Father's plan was to use my dowry for her marriage. But luckily everything turned out well as she got a very loving and caring husband. ... and after all these years .. i still think .. she is still a bit crazy but I think she must have got it from me.. shhh...

Third Girl

She came to my life quiet by surprise and was always in two minds as to who is this Stern looking guy who wants to marry me. I was also a bit surprised by her as I loved her at first sight but was bit wary she looked reserved and serious and was not sure as to how can a serious girl fit into my funny life.  As I said I was Lucky again as she agreed to marry me as I did not want dowry even through her parents were a bit worried as they never understood as to why a person who is not rich was taking that stand and did a lots of background check. She was completely different in the sense from the other two girls in that they loved me from the start but she made me earn her love and I am still doing the same after 17 years of marriage. Her name is Priya and she is my Crazy wife who beyond that serious look is a very funny person.

If I credit one person who had a big influence in life, then that is Priya as she thought me not only to respect people, but also how we are biased on the basis of colour in our society and as one my cousin said , she was one who made me look presentable to the world.

Her main concern was that both of us were simple and not world wise and so how will we survive in this street smart world. But we survived and thrived.

She is also a fighter like my mother , even through she will never admit it and always there to pull my leg and put a smile in my face.

She made my life Complete, even through she always yearned for a fourth girl in my Life. We even tried  for a fourth girl in my life, but we got the ChiChi Boy - Kanishk and are happy with the fact that we got 3 more girls in our life in form of  my Sisters two daughters Adivka and Akshara and my Brother's Daughter Reva.

So who were the Three Girls in your Life and if you are those lucky people with 4 girls in your life.
