Like a Leaf Blown in the Wind

I move around like a whirl..

I go in a twirl.. never a straight path but through a road full of curves..

Oh some time I wish I was back in my Mother Ship.

Back in my Home in that small little cozy corner even through the water pipe could sometimes leak.

but I am like the leaf blown in the wind and go where it takes me.

never in the same place.. some times high and some times low.. but away and away in the wind.

It is an adventure that I only dreamed.. but never in my life.. I ever thought I will be

Like a leaf blown in the wind.

The gust might be strong, but I am never alone . Here I go with Wife and kids in tow

Go wherever the winds blow.. settling for moments and then of we go

Creating loads of friends and memories on the ways But still yearning for the past

As we go , like a leaf blown in the wind

From Bombay to Bangalore, Bangalore to Bracknell and then off to Dublin

Of we go, like a leaf blown in the strong gust of wind

Friends are good and still are in touch as we reminisce  about the good old days

When our kids could be effortlessly carried home in our shoulders,

Or the endless discussions in our terrace with smell of barbecue cooking

Or me acting  more drunk then others without touching a single drop

But like the leaf, we get blown from city to city, country to country

A human leaf always outside looking in , with no place called of our own

But always feeling at home thanks to family and  friends

Dear wind slow down

So that our leaf can settle down

set some roots and help grow a new tree

As it is time to settle rather then get blown away and lost

But who am I to ask as it is up to wind to decide ,

Did you not want this?  yearned to travel , what if we started late

Was just waiting for you to complete your family, so that off you can go

with the family in the tow, going through adventures and drives

or that drive in the trusty car to reach the ship on time, with family in tears

another gust of winding blowing us away, but I  have no time to weep

as I had catch a ship, a family to settle and get those smiles back.


Promises have been made,  and hopefully will be kept, as Wind slows down

with a promise of New Dawn, As I go build another  new Castle in the air

Daring my Family to Dream of no more Wind.. and less tears and more smiles

 But I am just a leaf

 that had been blown in the wind,

blown in the wind.
